“The Gallery Westport … has been mooted as Ireland’s best wine bar, and not without justification”

The Irish Times Nov 2018

The Gallery is the place for discerning guests to relax and unwind in, a haven of peace and far from the madding crowds. Escape the daily grind, unwind and slip into something more comfortable.

The Gallery is a place where you never know who you could meet or the connections you can make. We have a genuine atmosphere where families, older and younger people, businessmen and women, movers and shakers and makers all combine into a mirthful melting pot of flowing conversation, laughter, literature and love.

Find us tucked away along Brewery Place – under the arch next to Morans Pub on Bridge St. Westport (opposite McKenna’s Barber shop).

A boutique wine bar and cosy coffee house with plenty of soul, come and join us and enjoy a truly unique and homely atmosphere. No TV’s, just a pair of turntables playing vinyl on a super-warm 5k sound system.

Imagine, candlelight and Moondance, natural food, natural wine and natural vibes. The Gallery is simply a very special place!

Carouse a fine selection of books, engage your mind with chess, scrabble or beat the house record at Jenga. Drink fine wines, the best coffee in Ireland – you decide…or relax with an organic herbal tea or deluxe organic hot chocolate.

Discover The Gallery vibe yourself…

The Gallery houses an extensive vinyl record collection, forming an incredible soundtrack for your visit. From jazz and reggae to classical and world music, there’s no other place like it!

We sell and serve a range of delicious award-winning artisan food, including olives, cheeses, dips, salad and vinegars. Irish chocolate, nougat and a selection of homemade jams and jellies.

We serve a small yet genuinely interesting selection of organic wines, and (so we are told) the best coffee you’ll taste in Ireland, plus herbal teas, natural juices and divine hot chocolate.

Why Natural Wine?

As a result of erosion over the past 40 years, 30 percent of the world's arable land has become unproductive. About 60 percent of soil that is washed away ends up in rivers, streams and lakes, increasing the risks of flooding and intensifying water contamination from fertilizers and pesticides runoff. Sustainable land use can help to reduce the impacts of agriculture and livestock, preventing soil degradation and erosion and the loss of valuable land to desertification.

Why say no to Palm Oil?

Palm oil is a globally traded agricultural commodity that is used in 50 percent of all consumer goods, from lipstick and packaged food to body lotion and biofuels. Approximately 85 percent of palm oil is grown in the tropical countries of Indonesia, Malaysia and Papua New Guinea (PNG) on industrial plantations that have severe impacts on the environment, forest peoples and the climate.

Why a GMO Free Menu?

Numerous health problems increased after GMOs were introduced in 1996. The percentage of Americans with three or more chronic illnesses jumped from 7% to 13% in just 9 years; food allergies skyrocketed, and disorders such as autism, reproductive disorders, digestive problems, and others are on the rise.

A superior mix of beans from Columbia, Papa New Guinea, Kenya, Costa Rica and Ethiopia, roasted here in Westport. Ground to order and available with hot water, organic milk, organic cream and organic chocolate as required. The Gallery coffee is fast gaining an historic reputation. We filter the water and each coffee is blessed with love. Prior to serving, we ask that the the great universe installs a certain slice of nice into your brew. Good Karma!

The wine list is well researched, including firm favourites from some of the oldest wineries in the world, to brand new wines from newer growers. Some of the wines are exclusive to The Gallery and not available anywhere else in Ireland. Try our sparkling Birch Sap wine or homegrown Bunratty Mead!
